Looking across the water towards Glencoe on this very snowy winter morning.

The road here is better than where we'd just been.  It was obvious the gritters had been along because, besides hearing them, the grit was visible on the road.

The theme for the week was new,  'Highland Hill walks',  with several Munros and Corbetts being climbed as well as some more leisurely walks along the tow path for those not wanting to climb.

Mull during the WHYW race.

I took a trip along the Kingairloch road and began to wonder if it was wise-  no cars from the other direction.  Was there a tree down or had there been a rockfall?

type='text'>installed to allow the MV Maid of Glencoul to provide a service during the reconstruction of the pier at Nether Lochaber on the Corran Narrows.

Without this temporary solution, the local population would have been without a ferry for several weeks. There are restrictions on vehicle weight and sailing hours during the work.

Expected completion date early December 2010.

The original destination was supposed to be Fort William but it was changed some weeks ago.
